I am from Irpin. But on the 24th of February I was in Kyiv, near Boryspil, where I was living with my friend. We heard the attack, it was scary. We packed some things and went to my parents’ house in Irpin, near Bucha and Hostomel. My mom and I left on the 5th of March, six days ago. Dad stayed. We haven’t heard from him. His phone is dead. Some family friends got in touch with us and said: “We have no electricity, no gas, no water, but we are preparing food outside”. Men have been gathering there as well, and old people. Not everybody can leave, not everybody can travel easily, some don’t want to leave. People say: “We have cats, we have our house, we should stay”. 

First I tried to leave on my own. I was already on a bus but had to come back home. We could hear shots, and they were getting closer and closer. The next day my mom and my friend Bogdana with her husky decided to leave too. We reached Ivano- Frankivsk and stayed there for 5 days. Now we feel better. We’re not in shock anymore, I’m just a little bit dizzy. Yesterday, my mom and I left for Lviv, and an organization from Poland brought us here to Medyka. My friend stayed in Ivano-Frankivsk where the Russians bombed the airport just yesterday. But she didn’t hear the explosions, they weren’t close to her. 

My sister lives in Poznań. She moved there 4 years ago, she has a family there. We are waiting for some means of transport. We wanted to rest for a bit because we have been moving around so much. My mom is okay, but I can feel something’s wrong, she’s blocking everything. It’s as if she had a stone in her heart. Sometimes, we try to tell jokes. She is worried about my dad. It’s cold over there, there is no water. And the Russians are shooting civilians, mothers, children, old people. We are afraid that someone will come to our house and shoot him. 

In Ukraine I worked as an assistant, administrator, and then in a bar. I think the changes were good for my soul. 

Poles are wonderful. Everybody is helping us. We needed to take ID photos for my mom. They took us to the train station in Przemyśl, and the photographer didn’t take any money from us. When we get to Poznan we need to start working. 

We need to do something, otherwise we’ll feel depressed. Maybe we will also volunteer. We did in Ivano-Frankivsk, when we could.

Я з Ірпеня, але 24 лютого була в Києві, поблизу Борисполя, де я живу з другом. Ми чули атаку, це було страшно. Ми спакували деякі речі й поїхали до моїх батьків в Ірпінь, це біля Бучі та Гостомеля. Ми з мамою виїхали 5 березня, шість днів тому. Тато залишився. Ми не мали з ним жодного зв’язку. В нього розрядився телефон. Знайома сім’я зв’язалася з нами і повідомила: «У нас немає ні електрики, ні газу, ні води, ми готуємо їжу на вулиці». Там збираються і чоловіки, і старі. Не всі можуть евакуюватися, не всі можуть легко пересуватися, дехто не хоче виїжджати. Люди кажуть: «У нас є коти, у нас є своя хата, ми повинні залишитися».

Спершу я намагалась евакуюватися сама. Я вже була в автобусі але мусила повернутись додому. Ми чули постріли все ближче і ближче. Наступного дня моя мама і подруга Богдана зі своєю хаскі теж вирішили поїхати. Ми дістались до Івано-Франківська і пробули там 5 днів. Зараз ми в нормі. Більше не шоковані, просто трохи дезорієнтовані. Вчора ми з мамою рушили до Львова, і організація з Польщі привезла нас сюди, у Медику. Моя подруга лишилась в Івано- Франківську, де буквально вчора росіяни розбомбили аеропорт, але вибухів вона не чула, це було далеко від неї. 

Моя сестра живе в Познані. Вона переїхала туди 4 роки тому, у неї там сім’я. Ми чекаємо якогось транспорту. Ми хотіли трохи розслабитися, тому що було багато переїздів. Моя мама в нормі, але й не в нормі; вона все тримає в собі. Таке відчуття, що у неї камінь на серці. Ми іноді намагаємося жартувати. Вона переживає за мого тата. Там холодно, води немає. А росіяни розстрілюють мирних жителів, матерів, дітей, старих людей. Ми боїмося, що хтось прийде в нашу хату і застрелить його. 

В Україні я працювала помічницею, адміністраторкою, а потім у барі. Я вважаю, що зміни пішли на користь моїй душі. 

Поляки прекрасні. Нам усі допомагають. Треба було сфотографувати маму на посвідчення, то нас відвезли на вокзал у Пшемишлі, а фотограф не взяв із нас грошей. 

Коли ми приїдемо до Познані, маємо почати працювати, щось робити, інакше будемо в депресії. Можливо, станемо волонтерити. Ми робили це в Івано-Франківську, коли могли.
