When my daughter and I heard the explosions at 5 a.m., we didn’t know what to do. That night we slept in the subway station. In the morning we went out and heard loud air-raid sirens. So we stayed in the bomb shelter the whole time. We left Kyiv on the second day of the full-scale war. We took the train to Lviv. The journey took twelve hours instead of five. 

My parents live in Odesa, they do not want to go anywhere. My ex-husband lives in Kharkiv. The situation there is difficult, many people have died from the shelling. It is horrible. 

I only left because I wanted to take my daughter somewhere safe. I would like to return to Lviv from Poland to help people in need. I am not afraid to return to Ukraine and fight. Many of my friends have joined the army. If everyone works together now, it may be possible to change something for the better. 

I worked in Kyiv at the State Drama and Comedy Theater on the left bank of the Dnipro River. We were just about to put on “The Odyssey”. I hope we still will one day.

Коли ми з дочкою почули вибухи о 5 ранку, ми не знали, що нам робити. Ніч ми спали на станції метро. Зранку вийшли на поверхню і почули гучні сирени. Тож весь час ми перебували у бомбосховищі. Ми покинули Київ на другий день повномасштабної війни. Їхали поїздом до Львова. Дорога тривала 12 годин замість 5. 

Мої батьки живуть в Одесі, вони нікуди не хочуть їхати. Мій колишній чоловік живе у Харкові. Там ситуація важка, чимало людей загинули від обстрілів. Це жахає. 

Я виїхала тільки тому, що хочу відвезти дочку в безпечне місце. Я би хотіла повернутись із Польщі до Львова, щоб там допомагати людям, які цього потребують. Я не боюся повер- нутись в Україну і боротися за неї. Багато моїх друзів пішли до армії. Якщо зараз усі об’єднають зусилля — може, вдасться щось змінити на краще. 

Я працювала у Києві в Театрі драми і комедії на лівому березі Дніпра. У ці дні ми саме мали грати «Одіссею». Сподіваюся, ще зіграємо.
